This difference lets the receiver think that the sender is spoofing. But it also resolves the name of the sender, which is different - "localhost". The receiver resolves the name of the machine from where the connection is made and sees its host name. When webmail sends an email, this is sent from 127.0.0.1, which resolves to the name "localhost". If your mails only go into the junk folder when they are sent through webmail, the issue is caused by a mismatch of the submitting host name and your real host name. Since i'm new to all of this, i'm starting to lose a grip on how this all works.Īm i forgetting something here, any help is highly appreciated! On this plesk I use webmail (Roundcube), here is the problem.Īfter reading many, many articles and forums without coming to a solution, I am now typing this message. On this plesk I installed Wordpress (which works, the website part works)Ħ. I run a Vultr VPS and installed Plesk on itĥ. I Created a SSL/TLS certificate on Cloudflare, and imported it in PleskĤ. I have a technical background so I learn quick. it's really weird. To begin, i'm a total newb trying to learn how to host a website and mailing. Some of the emails that did not download are from people that I regularly communicate with, so. Here's another strange thing I just noticed, some emails did download properly, and others did not, and other than coming from different email addresses, I see no difference in the emails. I checked my junkmail settings both on Outlook at Thunderbird, these email addresses are not filtered as junk and are in my whitelist, besides, they're not going to the junkmail folder on Outlook or Thunderbird, they go to the Deleted Items folder on Outlook and they're just not showing up at all in Thunderbird as they haven't been properly downloaded. In Outlook, if I select an email on the list and click the "Restore" button, to move it back to the InBox, then it works, Thunderbird downloads the email as per usual.

It's like Outlook got the signal that these emails were downloaded by Thunderbird and moved them to the 'Deleted Items' folder, but they're not showing up in Thunderbird. But now, I am not seeing any new emails in Thunderbird, but when I login to Outlook, I can see all of my new emails in the 'Delete Items' folder. Normally, when Thunderbird downloads new emails from the (Outlook/Hotmail) server, those emails are then moved from the Outlook 'InBox' folder, to the Outlook 'Delete Items' folder.
